What are you working on?

My work is awesome. I facilitate protein production for our research project, which investigates the molecular mechanisms of neurotransmitter release. I use bacterial expression systems and purify our proteins using a battery of modern chromatographic techniques. More recently, I have been getting into some fun, detective work in optimizing the production. Consider me a protein factory. I also love how I get to collaborate with smart people from different fields and learn from them as well. The project's topic expands upon my master's research, so it is especially exciting for me. And, even though my current work is highly specialized, I have experience in a wide range of techniques. At BioCurious, I want to be part of something else special, learn more things, and meet cool people.

I'm very curious, dedicated, creative, and hardworking. I enjoy getting to know others and collaborating in teams. It's great to be at Stanford researching interesting topics. My thinking: why should I ever wait for inspiration or passion to find me?
