Bioinformatics: The Who, What, When, Where

We've all heard about bioinformatics – the interplay of computers, math and engineering to make sense of biological data. But what is it really? Ryan Brown, a bioinformaticist in a psychiatry lab at UW Madison, will give examples of the types of projects encountered across a variety of biological projects and will also give us a quick look behind the scenes at the DNA sequence alignment algorithm he is developing as a tool to study epigenetics (changes in gene expression that don't rely on changes in DNA sequence).

I was looking forward to attending for the first time, but my son's ear infection has other plans for me this evening. I definitely hope to be there next time.

Sorry I wont make it this month - thanks for presenting Ryan! I will continue to spread the word and plan to make the May meeting.

Laura, what is the best way to forward an invite to a friend through either Meetup of Outlook?

There are two ways that come to mind 1) Send them the link via Outlook and perhaps copy the group description OR 2) Go to the More button, click Promote and then select Or email friends directly. You'll be prompted to enter email addresses and a message.
