The limitations of Biotechnology; Where won’t we be in 50 years?

Many may say the Biotechnology Industry is currently experiencing its coming out phase and the pace of research and technological advancements are accelerating.  However, there are limits to what our research, funding and culture can achieve in this area of science.  The topic of discussion for this meeting is what we will not be able to achieve as an industry and society within our lifetimes.

Please join us for networking and light discussion around this topic.  Food and drinks will be available for purchase on a cash basis via the American Tap Room’s regular menu and pricing. The cost of attendance is free and the event is open to all.

In between 30 minute networking sessions we will be holding 4 minute speeches in the loose format of TED Talks. If you would like to volunteer or nominate someone to give one of these speeches please post a comment on the message board for this event.  The topic is yours to choose so long as it is 4 minutes or less, about the Biotechnology industry, and not a “commercial” for a product or business.  Talks related to the title of the event are encouraged but not required.

Unfortunately, I've a lecture in the evening. If only it was scheduled in the afternoon of the same day, or maybe a day after. Thanks Moe for keeping this group alive, keep the meetups coming! :)

    Moe,
I would like to give my speech about "How to Find Medical Literature When You Don't Have Access to a Medical Library." I was previously scheduled to give this speech at the last Rockville Meetup gathering. Does this work for you?
