Yes - quite a bit, actually. Before moving to Colorado 15 years ago, I worked for Texas Parks and Wildlife for 3 years as a GIS Analyst and participated in many avian field surveys. I was also fairly active with the local Audubon society and also participated in Christmas counts in the Austin area. Locally, I am fairly active with Denver Field Ornithologist and Denver Audubon, participating in field trips with both groups frequently. I am currently in the ASGD Naturalist Training program and plan to take their Master Bird's course year after next.
My hiking and birding occurs mainly in the Boulder area around Chautauqua Park, Sawhill - Cottonwood Marsh, and Betasso Preserve, as well as RMNP. Looking to branch out.
I work in Boulder currently so I LOVE Southern Sun and Avery. Upslope is a new brewery that has become a favorite of mine, since it is within walking distance of where I work.
I was a very active birder in Texas during and post graduate school. I've recently become a bit obsessed with our feathered friends and spend most of my weekends in their company.
It is a great meetup group and I am looking forward to attending many more outings to new places for bird watching and also looking forward to meeting new and interesting people.!
