Let's enjoy Secret Cinema at the Maple Theater on 3/20/14

Thank you to Tom LeMahieu for information about this event!

Join us at 7:30 PM on 3/20/14 at the Maple Theater for Secret Cinema. It's only $5.00 for your movie ticket!! On this evening it's "New Hollywood" meaning a film after 1967.

Purchase tickets in rows F and G. Call[masked] to purchase tickets or here's the link to purchase your ticket:

http://themapletheater.com/MovieDetails.aspx?MovieType=ComingSoon&Movie_strID=3200000076

Your $5 ticket includes free popcorn with any other purchase from the bar/cafe/concession area.

Get a Maple Club Card (it's free to get the card) and you get 5 free drinks at Great Lakes Cafe.

It's fun because you don't know what you will be seeing but these classic films are the best of the best!

After each film there is a fascinating discussion (conducted by a local film critic or professor) of the plot, characters and symbolism within the film. On some nights there is a film trivia contest with prizes!

There is also live music in the Maple theater coffee cafe all evening. Come early and enjoy a glass of wine, beer, small plates or coffee/tea and then enjoy the film at 7:30 pm.

Meet at the fireplace (north side of fireplace) in the coffee cafe to connect with our members.

You organizer will be unable to attend dinner but post a comment if you want to dine at Beau Jacks at 5:45 PM before the film.

As always - meet in the Maple Theater coffee cafe after the film to discuss it.

PLEASE DO NOT RSVP "NO" TO THIS EVENT. PLEASE JUST DELETE THE EMAILS YOU RECEIVE ABOUT THIS EVENT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO ATTEND. THANK YOU.

Film Noir is a genre of film that literally translates as black or dark. Originally dating from the 30s and 40s, more recent films that have this genre's characteristics are sometimes called "neo noir". Here's a link that may help: http://en.m.wikipedia...

I saw the lady with the balloon but did not know that is what I should have been looking for. I enjoyed the movie and the lecture but was disappointed in not making a connection.

There were 3-4 of us up at the bar near the wall. We were looking for any new people from this list but didn't see anyone . I believe Christine L (our leader) may have had a red balloon. So sorry we all couldn't meet up. We will try again next time .

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
