Salesforce MVP Presentation

  • Dec 11, 2013 · 7:00 PM
  • 1 Hagley Road

I have spoken with a couple of Salesforce MVPs who work for Appirio and they are keen to come to our next Meetup with a number of presentations under their arms.

Unfortunately Matthew Lamb has had to cancel his visit from the US at short notice but we still have a Salesforce MVP, Joshua Hoskins, available to present on:

• 'The Ideal Salesforce Development Lifecycle'

Could I please ask attendees to arrive for the presentation to begin at 7. There will be people in the offices from 6.20 onwards.

I would also like to conduct a round-table discussion on Test Classes.

If anybody wishes to raise any other topic please feel free to bring these to the meeting.

1 Hagley Road is situated on Five Ways island in Edgbaston. The nearest railway station is Five Ways though the offices are in walking distance of New Street.

Many thanks

There should be plenty of parking on site at that time of the day. There are ramps on the Hagley Road and the Middleway. Please use the Buzzer on the main entrance (closest to the car park to gain entrance. Dial Floor 2. One of us will let you in. Make your way up to the second floor. press 02 on the lift panel. Follow signs for reception.

B16 8TG for the SatNavs and maps.

Here's an idea, pending the next meeting:

Like many aspects of the SF community, there is such a wealth of information about the apps on AppExchange, plus other third party tools and apps linked to SF, that it makes it difficult for a consultant with short attention span (ie yours truly) to judge where to focus for adding functionality to the core system. Just this week I picked up several good ideas from the meeting (thanks John and Alan) and it's that kind of PERSONAL recommendation that I'd really value from you all.

So, I'd like to propose a kind of "App Inventory" where we could all record the apps/tools/tech we are using, with some kind of feedback (star rating), just for internal consumption amongst ourselves. I'm thinking of something low tech like a google form/spreadsheet (eg Name..App..UsedFor..Pros..Cons..Rating), which we could all use for reference or to identify others as a sounding board.

Happy to set something up if it's worth the effort.

    Any thoughts ?

Let me add my applause to everyone else's - this sort of meeting is especially useful to me as SF is not the focus of my day job! Sorry I couldn't be more sociable afterwards. Looking forward to the next meet.

Hi Birmingham. A couple of us will be grabbing a train up from Bristol to join you for this event, if you'll have us :)

I'm a Salesforce developer myself, with 2 years experience on the platform. I'm the co-organiser of the Southwest Developer User group, and am looking forward to meeting fellow UK devs and seeing how the other DUGs are being run around the country.

No problem at all Simon - we too would be keen to learn how best to run the DUGs

Apologies, we have attempted to book the Old Joint Stock as before but, because of the time of year, there is no room at the inn, to coin a phrase!

John has arranged for us to use the HealthTrust Europe conference rooms at 1 Hagley Road. Anyone wishing to park can do so on site (you will need to enter the car park from the Hagley Road, approaching Five Ways roundabout, the car park is just before the building). Alternatively the offices are a five minute walk from Five Ways train station (or 20 minutes from New Street).

We are trying to ascertain whether we will be allowed to provide alcohol for the evening, but we are proposing providing Dominos pizza (including a vegetarian version for Mr Harrison!)

We aim to begin the presentation at 7 and if there's time afterwards may visit the German Market!

Hi all, I have spoken with Matthew and as he is only arriving in the country on the Monday we're going to set the date as Wednesday 11th December. Hope this doesn't mess anyone up.
