Peña Flamenca - Feria de Sevilla en el corazón de Birmingham

The Coffee Room Bar and Bistro in conjunction with Ana Garcia are offering another evening of Flamenco. On the last occassion there was an interactive element - introduction to the rythmns and traditions of this art form together with spectator elements. Here is Ana's synopsis of the evening.

VAMOS PA LA FERIA...

Due to public demand, we will be running another Peña on Sunday 14 April at the Coffee Room, 70 Hurst Street  Birmingham, B5 4TD (right opposite the Hippodrome).
So for all of us we can't be in La Feria de Sevilla this year, we have decided to bring La Feria de Sevilla here, to the heart of Birmingham.

We are extremely lucky to be accompanied again by "Marco el Canastero" (guitarist) and "Javier el artista" (singer), from Malaga.

What is a Peña?

A PEÑA is an informal gathering which offers opportunities for students and aficionados of flamenco, their friends and the general public to enjoy the sights and sounds of flamenco in an informal and friendly atmosphere.

What to expect at this Peña?

3.00 - Doors open.
3.30 - 4.45 Singing and Compás y Palmas Class with Marco.
5.30 - 6.30 Flamenco Performance with Marco el Canastero, Javier el Artista, Ana Garcia & friends
6.30 - 7.30 PAELLA!
7.30 - Until the last one leaves! Informal party where any aficionado/a (dancer, singer or guitarist) have the opportunity to perform if they wish.

*Tickets for the Peña cost £10
Group bookings: Complementary ticket when you book 5 or more tickets.

*Please note that the ticket price includes the Tapas and the Singing and Compás y Palmas class.

We have limited places for the peña, in order to avoid disappointment, I strongly recommend to book in advance.
For bookings or further information about  the Peña or Flamenco classes in Birmingham please do not hesitate to contact me.

Looking forward to it!

What a lovely afternoon. I did enjoy it and hope everyone else did too. I loved the paella - the girls made the best one yet I think. Hope to see you next Sunday, especially the first timers I met yesterday.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
