Free Concert: Beyond Classical Yawen Mu/Linyang Wang - Invitation to the Dance

Yawen Mu/Linyang Wang - Invitation to the Dance.

In this solo piano concert featuring performances by Yawen Mu and Linyang Wang, Weber’s Invitation to the Dance precedes Ravel’s masterclass in the Viennese Waltz, alongside the Jazz Swing Dance of Kapustin, and Chopin and Albeniz works that have more dance than song about them.

Yawen Mu piano

Albeniz Sonata No 3 in A flat, Op 68 Chopin Scherzo No 4 in E, Op 54 Kapustin Etudes

Linyang Wang piano

Weber Invitation to the Dance Op 65 Ravel La Valse

In association with Birmingham Conservatoire and the University of Birmingham

It is an informal event where you can come and go as you please with seating on 4 floors (Its in the area closest to centenary square).

Depending on what people are up to can go for drink/bite to eat afterwards too.

My numbers[masked] if anyone needs to get in touch that afternoon/evening.

Please note Sometimes these events are very popular so if enough people do not arrive on time to save some extra seats on the 3rd floor level (where the band plays) we will move up, it is worthwhile taking down my number to help you find the group especially if you cant make it for 5pm.

This was excellent and what a pity the lack of funding has put an end to it. Very mature performances from such young pianists. Thanks for organising this.

Thanks Prem for organising this. It's a shame that the Thursday performances are ending due to lack of funding. Look forward to other events with the meet up group.
