Code Collaborative 13 (Food Sponsored by EasyBitz)

We have an important topic to discuss about the format of our future code collaborative meetups, please come if you are interested in giving us some feedback on the new idea.

As always, please bring your computers and something cryptocurrency related to work on. Find collaborators, co-founders, employees etc...

Message from our sponsors, EasyBitz:

What can we do to help bitcoin grow? How about chow down!

Every week EasyBitz will be featuring a new merchant who accepts Bitcoin. We're focusing on food and we've got the best in the city. Your taste buds will finally love Bitcoin too.

We are very proud to be sponsoring this weeks BitDevs NYC Code Collaborative. The leaders here are lighting up the space and creating termendous value.

PS Clarification: requiring some form of insurance, as opposed to self-insurance/a bond would be more realistic and credible. Self-insuring/Bonding? Not realistic...

    Hey guys-

Here's the link to the TechCrunch article that I mentioned:

One thing we were discussing at "Drinks": the regs explicitly state that reporting of identity for "merchant transactions" is not required; but what about when a merchant uses a wallet service? Would the service be required to know the identity of the customer paying into the merchant's account?? Miles looked at the wording and found it to be fuzzy; at the very least, it needs clarification.

The bonding/self insuring requirement is over the top; but requiring a Bitcoin business to carry some reasonable level of coverage is a good idea that's overdue.

And requiring that a new Bitcoin product or service register with the State (with a 30-90 day wait period for the State to vet?), as opposed to "get permission", would be a more reasonable and practical requirement.

See y'all next Tuesday (if not sooner at the Bitcoin fair...)

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
