Mycelium Bitcoin wallet for Android will have a new feature called Local Trader, which lets you set up an offer to sell, or look for offers to buy bitcoins, right from within your wallet, like LocalBitcoins.com. It'll let you search for nearby sellers using your phone's GPS, set up deals and communicate right within the app, and since the app has direct access to your wallet, it guarantees that the seller has the money. Heard it here first.

Thanks for coming guys! Hope to see you all next month. PS - if you're interested in going door-to-door to talk to businesses, I'll be posting details once we have the flyers printed.

Somewhat off topic, but I need to just say that WebSockets are pretty much the most badass thing ever. I mentioned in my bio I am coding a new altcoin exchange, and am incorporating WebSockets from the get-go. Live updates across all connected browsers for absolutely minimal network overhead? Oh hell yes. I'll show it off Thursday ;)

Just had an idea... I love the idea of face-to-face trading and I know there's LocalBitcoins for that, but I was wondering if there's any value in our meetup to maintain a list of trustworthy traders... who we've worked with in the past and trust a lot. Good idea?

I've done a few local trades and so far all have went well. I can pull up a list from LBC if we want to compare notes.

So I built a bitcoin ATM Machine (Raspberry Pi based, Pheonix Cash Accept), it takes 1,5,10,20,50,100 supposed to be old and new bills. Im still working out a few bugs but by February 6th I should even have a nice pretty case built out for it. Would you guys be interested in me bringing it to beta test?

I think I speak for the whole group when I say: hell ya we would!
0 · January 10, 2014
Sure! Maybe... What kind of fees are you planning to charge?
0 · January 11, 2014
I dont know if I was going to charge a fee its part of a bigger plan I guess to add liquidity. I mean Ill make something off it at some point but right now the only obstacles are a few technical hiccups.

Sounds amazing. I would even pick you up from the airport so you don't have to lug it in a taxi.

This prototype keeps getting smaller and smaller, The full scale prototype I ordered is over 250 lbs.. No carrying that!
