How does Bitcoin work?

This will be a discussion on how Bitcoin works under the hood.  I will explain digital signatures and how they are related to signing transactions.

We will talk about the "distributed ledger" the block chain, and demonstrate how you can view transactions on block explorer or blockchain.info.

I will discuss the "proof of work protocol" and its importance in stoping double spends, and how this all ties back to the miners role in the system.

Should be heaps of fun!

Informative and very technical but a little dry lacking engagement. Sound for the videos/slides and some differing opinions would greatly improve this.

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. I think next time we should use the room out the front for more mingle time. There where a lot of new faces I didn't get to meet.

Thanks Cesar, in hindsight I could have used the bitcoin spec to show Dan the relationship between ECDSA private / public key pairs, and then how they go on to form a bitcoin address.

And don't forget to share it with anyone else you know uses Bitcoin in Australia.

    Thanks for your help
