Bitcoin Center NYC-BitDevs Joint Hackathon - Attend, Compete!

Put your information security and Bitcoin knowledge to the test and try to find the vulnerability in an online Bitcoin wallet designed by a BitDevs NYC member.

Bitcoin Center NYC, the city’s only brick-and-mortar institution dedicated to the further adoption of Bitcoin, announced today that it will host BitDevs NYC's first hackathon at the center’s 40 Broad Street location, 100 feet from the NYSE.

The hackathon will take place on Saturday, February 22nd, 2014 from noon to 10:00 PM.

BitDevs NYC is a group tailored towards software and hardware developers interested in the Bitcoin protocol, cryptocurrencies, open source fintech and cryptography. Meetups are held once a week, alternating between formal and social gatherings.  For more information, please visit their homepage.  If you are interested in sponsoring catering for the event, please contact Justin at [masked].

The Hackathon:

The playing field is a vulnerable Bitcoin web wallet. Players and spectators contribute funds to this wallet ($5).  The winner is the player who successfully penetrates the server, accesses the working wallet account, and sends the Bitcoin therein to another address.  Winner takes all.

There are three objects to this game:

1. To have fun

2. To learn about information security and Bitcoin

3. To capture the coin

Think you have what it takes? Prove it! Play Capture the Coin!

Event details are as follows.  Time is Eastern.
