Visit The Holborn Whippet

Welcome the first Bitter Women Meetup held at the Holborn Whippet. The first meetup is an ice breaker, getting to know each other, relaxing with a group of mates and having a giggle. Sounds easy? It is! Now let me tell you a little bit about the Whippet. The pub is a recent-ish additional to Midtown (Bloomsbury, Coventry Garden and Holborn) and has many rave reviews regarding it's beer. This is what Time Out has to say "it’s a cracking beer selection, and perhaps the only pub like it I’ve seen that sells only draught. Sixteen beers and ciders on constant rotation are dispensed from a central column, upon which blackboards advertise the current offer in a rather abstruse way. Decode it though and you’ll find the superb likes of Adnams, Bristol Beer Company, Dark Star and Williams Bros from the UK, and Konig, St Bernardus and Maisel from over the German Sea." Mmmmmm sounds so good my mouth is watering. So join me and others on the first Bitter Women Meetup Saturday 29th June at 7pm. All you have to do is remember why you like your particular favourite pub, think of a dessert you would like to be if you were reincarnated as food and if you had a choice to change something about you what would it be? Oh remember to invite your friends to the group.... It's gonna be fun fun fun!!!!

Assuming people are all coming from different places and/or times, do we have a method of recognising each other tomorrow? I mean yes a huge group of women (unless you're the first to arrive) but that won't be very unique on Pride day...

Pop by for a swift half. We will be 10 mins away from Pride and if you are going on the march, like I am, you're going to work up a thirst lol!

Plan to come, though I will say that the acoustics in there make it VERY noisy. Let's hope the weather's nice as it has a huge beer garden.

I have a good feeling about this. I am feeling warm weather, drinks outside and great conversation!

I'm sure you realise that the 29th is Pride day. Or is that deliberate?

I also think the Harp in Covent Garden is a fantastic Real Ale Pub. Amazing selections of Real Ales and some interesting Whiskies. My experience of the bar service is always warm and attentive. Hope you are able to pop along for a pint on Saturday 29th June.
