Bixel Exchange connects Los Angeles' "I wish I'd known" tech entrepreneurs with the "been-there, done-that" business professionals, savvy entrepreneurs, and start up resources. Every year, universities in L.A. produce more engineering graduates than any other county in California—including in Silicon Valley. L.A. is the content capital of the world. Startup Genome recently ranked L.A. #3 startup ecosystems in the world. L.A. is setup to have a vibrant technology economy. Bixel Exchange has been developed by the SBDC and the Chamber to help these new companies thrive in L.A., so that they will continue to grow, produce jobs, commerce and new technologies here in L.A. How did we get here? Helping to build out L.A.'s new and growing technology sector is about getting back to basics for the the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. From entertainment to aerospace, the fortune cookie to the hula hoop, the Chamber has helped support innovators, and build new industries in Los Angeles for over 125 years. Recognizing the need to build a more robust technology sector in the L.A., the Chamber used its business, government and community leadership to develop an effort to help this growing new technology economy. The Bixel Exchange is a new partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Hosted at the Chamber, Bixel Exchange leverages the power of the Chamber and the proven track record of the SBDC network spanning L.A., Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. Today, Bixel Exchange team, and our partners are focused on making L.A. a better place for startups to create new innovative technology. What are we doing? Bixel Exchange will focus on the rapidly evolving segments of the high-tech eco-system, including , adtech, clean tech, digital media, gaming, mobile and social media . Bixel Exchange will serve entrepreneurs by working with accelerators, incubators co-working spaces, venture capitalists, angel investors and private equity firms, universities, research institutions, innovation labs and government. Oh and we do lots of events, from networking mixers, educational workshops, to larger salons, conferences and hackathons!
