Clissold Park, Hackney

Green Lanes, N16 9HJ

Now in its 4th Year the former FOYA, now renamed the Yoruba Arts Festival is a unifying social, cultural and educational platform for Yoruba's from around the world and people of African origin. It's objective, to develop and maintain a lasting and self-sustainable platform for community cohesion and development through Arts and Culture.

It's a 2 day, weekend affair held in open air, making more accessible Yoruba Art's to a wider audience worldwide and to encourage traditional arts practice through cultural performances, workshops, Art exhibitions, competitions and live music from artists showcasing Yoruba music in its traditional and contemporary forms during the Festival.

In 2013, the annual Yoruba Arts Festival was extended into a two day weekend event. In doing so, we are in a better position to include more features, activities and entertainment, showcasing and celebrating Yoruba Arts, Culture and Intellectual Heritage.

Haven't met any of you all before so I guess I'll also be at "The White house" as well.

See you there... should be interesting.

      Meetup 11am, Saturday 27th July

I'll be planted outside the free house/pub called The White House, which is on the corner of Highbury Quadrant & Green Lanes. The venue is right across the road from where the event shall be staged in Clissold Park. Hopefully you'll wear you African wear, if you have any, if not there'll be some on sale if you wanna purchase. I got a lovely suit two years ago, hope the same stall is there again. My telephone number is[masked] should you wanna hang out with the club or even if you just wanna do your own thang but let me know you're in the house.

I missed last years one but had been to the first two. It'a really well organised event which includes acts you get to see free where normally one would have to pay a min £20 admission.
