Synopsis of Dr. Hutchinson's Atlanta Lecture:

Straight to Hell: Christian Fascism and Americana

In 2012, decades after the passage of the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts, the South rose up in a spasm of anti-undocumented immigrant xenophobia. After the election of Barack Obama in 2008, mainstream media trumpeted a new era of post-racialism and colorblindness. Yet, contemporary platitudes about the increase of multiracial relationships, expanded U.S. Census categories for multiracial people, and the alleged decline of racial identification amongst the “Millennial” generation only camouflage the folly of post-racialism. Given the nation’s demographic shifts and the increasing political capital of people of color the challenge to humanism is clear—social and gender justice must become the prism for humanist advocacy."

I'm off that day so shouldn't have any problem being there. I'd better read her book before that date.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
