Good afternoon everyone! For those of you who will be attending, take Flat Shoals exit on 85 South. Turn right, then make another right onto Shenfield Lane. The library is inside of the Flat Shoals Center. See you in a bit!
BN is a secular fellowship dedicated to providing an informative, caring, festive and family friendly environment. We strive to connect with other Blacks who are living free of religion and irrational beliefs who might otherwise be shunned by family and friends. Instead of accepting dogma, we seek to determine truth and morality through reason and evidence.
Mission Statement The mission of Black Nonbelievers is to… • Provide secular fellowship.
• Nurture and support nonbelievers in coming out.
• Promote atheist pride.
• Organize nonbelievers for charitable causes.
BN members meet to discuss topics relevant to secular living as well as to socialize. As a community we celebrate birthdays, holidays, weddings and other ocasions. We offer workshops and other gatherings to educate the public on the views of nonbelievers. We also sponsor a Recovering from Religion (RR) group to assist those in need of support while questioning their faith or dealing with the challenges of leaving religion. See our Calendar for details on specific meetings and activities.
BN welcomes all regardless of sex, sexuality, gender identity, age or national origin.
