Grew up going to Christian school and had been "saved" several times by age 13. At age 17, I began identifying as an atheist, having never really believed what I was being taught. At some point I began learning a bit about Buddhism and in 2010, I began actively reading Dalai Lama's writings. I keep an "altar" at home with crystals, singing bowls, candles, etc. and I generally like this concept of gratitude to the universe, connective energy. I really love eastern faith systems for being un-faith systems; they're mostly philosophies based on reality and how you can deal with your situation, not get to some magical sky kingdom. Still, I don't align with any group.
