We will be discussing the general idea of what it takes to get into medical school. This perspective will focus particularly on the needs of black students (undergrads, post-bacs, second degrees, etc.) as well as the medical school admission trends for that demographic.
The plan for the evening is as follows:
- A brief intro and the obligatory "going around the room".
- A discussion about the path to medical school and the obstacles that often face black premeds. Should last about 30 minutes.
- A discussion about future meetups and topics for discussion.
This is also a great opportunity to network and build relationships with other individuals. You are all on the same path and can all achieve the same goal through your collaborative efforts.
