Move your body, calm your mind! Afrobeat Meditation + Movement

  • February 23, 2014 · 3:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Join us for community guided meditation, relaxation, and movement infused with Black Diaspora music and culture. We sit, we be, we move in community - to Afrobeat, merengue, downtempo, and relaxing chill music. Move and be moved! No meditation or dance background necessary.

Note: Afrobeat Meditation™ is breath with movement. It is intuitive movement. Not quite a dance class, simply an invitation to move your body and tap into your body.

$15 adults (non-students)
$10 for students
Ages 10-16 Priceless

Class tickets on-line at http://root-work.com/store/
Or pay exact cash or credit at the door

P.S. Afrobeat Meditation™ has been a monthly tradition here in Austin since 2012! At this time, it is still advertised in other outlets. Women, men, queer folk, all may be in the attendance! Children ages 10-16 are more than welcome with an adult.

Once again, this was a fabulous time! This is by far my favorite meet up! I love meeting and hanging with kindred spirits, moving and meditating and being together. Can't wait for the next meet up!

Rowan asked a great question. Sharing with all: At this time, this monthly meditation is advertised elsewhere (such as on soulciti.com) and here on the Meetup page. So bodies other than women may be in the room! Other Black Women Get Rooted events are open only to members (women). Let me know if you have other questions!

Beautiful women! Today I spent time at Auditorium Shores connecting with the movements for February's session. Can't wait to share - and to see how you make them your own for your personal get rooted practice. Have a gorgeous day, Naya
