Greetings fellow East Lancashirians! Is anyone else thinking what I am thinking, that there seems little of any real substance to do around east lancs, unless your sole interest in clubbing? Does anyone else want to meet up for interesting conversations, whilst doing meaningful activities, and whilst building supportive local networks?
So the group is a informal social organisation to do just that, for the Blackburn/Darwen and/or surrounding area. A wide range of lovely people of varying ages. The main aim of the group is have laughs get us out and make new friends. Any members who have an idea for an event/meet please feel free to message one of the organisers and we can put it up. Some of the events we have done :-
Bowling quiz nights meals cinema nights walks flower show coffee mornings.(not everything involves alchol) pub crawls Christmas markets. Got an afternoon watching ice hockey lined up. Some ideas for more are :-
trips to Blackpool especially the pleasure beach. Nights out in Manchester Inc salsa dancing. Comedy clubs. live music(if you know a band feel free to recommend them)
The use if the site requires paayment from the main organiser so where some groups charge every month wether you attend events or not we don't. We charge a pound to be given to the organiser but only for the events you attend.
The only rules for members are to be respectful to each other and if you are unable take an event please change it on the site. Failure to notify an organiser that you won't be attending an event will count as a strike and three strikes means you will be taken out of the group. We do understand that emergencies and other commitments do come up but please either change your rsvp to a meet or message the organiser so we aren't stood around waiting for someone who isn't going to show.
