(wk 3.  Team Formation)

Nov 17, 2013

Instructor:Chuck Eesley,Assistant Professor, Management Science & Engineering, Stanford University

This course introduces the fundamentals of technology entrepreneurship, pioneered in Silicon Valley and now spreading across the world. You will learn the process technology entrepreneurs use to start companies. It involves taking a technology idea and finding a high-potential commercial opportunity, gathering resources such as talent and capital, figuring out how to sell and market the idea, and managing rapid growth. To gain practical experience alongside the theory, students form teams and work on startup projects in those teams.

Hi John, thanks for providing the link. I also downloaded the syllabus. I went to the BITLA home page. I see our business sector is services. Not sure where the group is in terms of progress. Has anyone yet identified a purpose/need to fulfill? Just throwing this concept out to the team: create an app that connects grocery store chains and restaurants to food banks in the inner city to provide perishable food that would normally be wasted. Again just an idea. Cheers, Bret.

However, feel free to complete a business canvas for your idea if you want to get a head start.

I just listed "services" as a generic placeholder.

Hi John, I enrolled, watched a few of the professor's videos and I'm ready to join BITLA. Might sound crazy, but there were so many groups, I couldn't find BITLA. Could you provide me a link, if at all possible. Thxs!

Hi! I'm a student of this course and had already completed Assignment #2. I'm looking for a team I can join permanently for the rest of the course, preferably around Los Angeles because I'd like to meet people for possible partnership in founding a startup. If interested, shoot me an email so I can point you to my profile in novoed. Thanks!
