I enjoy whatever... hiking, camping, backpacking - although I haven't done much of either in recent years due to friends moving, house obligations, etc. I have a rec kayak that I miss... I wasn't able to bring it with me (it is on extended loan with friends back east) but I want to get back out on the water for a good paddle at some point. I am a downhill skier too, and I'm thinking of getting a bike. Fishing, climbing, etc, sure! Next winter, I'd like to get some traps and try ice fishing somewhere. I enjoy the more "simple" pleasures too, like sitting by a campfire, gazing up at the stars, while sipping on one of Colorado's fine craft brewed canned beers (easy pack-out!). One thing I'd like to look into is if there is a lake around to go sailing on. Oh, and I chase storms too so if there is a good chase opportunity, that takes priority, lol.
I'm fairly certain I've adjusted to the altitude for hikes and such. I have all needed equipment to backpack - alas that doesn't make one "experienced", but I'm familiar with trail and camping etiquette.
I would like to hike the slot canyons in Utah at some point. Going on a night hike somewhere dark and getting some star time-lapse photography (or, even an aurora - as these have been on the rise recently in northern latitudes) on a moonless night would be pretty awesome. I'd like to spend a little more time in the deserts and canyons of the west. Storm chasing me has gotten me a bit into photography; I think a night trip in Joshua Tree to photograph the landscape and the sky would be awesome.
Mostly weekends, but I can take off weekdays with some notice.
Moved to Denver a few months ago. Looking to meet some new folks and get outdoors somewhere.
Fun so far!
