I was going through some hard times & tired of the daily onslaught of my employer, a particularly evil & wicked man. I wanted a way of protecting myself from this daily abuse. I had given up on religion, but was studying various Tibetan Buddhist meditation techniques that rely heavily on visualization (I had been studying Tibetan Buddhism for about 20 years). One day, I was on my lunch break, wandered into Moe's Books (Berkeley), & to the Buddhist section. In the adjacent book section, I saw a book on the Golden Dawn & "Magick in Theory & Practice". I started reading them, bought both, & found the LBRP. I thought PERFECT!! I performed LBRPs night & day for a month expecting my situation at work to improve, but to no avail. One day I performed a Star Ruby; it just felt immediately different. I went to work that day & my employer was almost speechless & couldn't seem to find the words to beat me down. THAT was the beginning of the end! Bought anything Crowley I could get my hands on.
Being an ecclectic, I was drawn to Thelema through the efforts and works of Aleister Crowley. Here was a man who dabbled in all forms of magick. Bruce Lee said, "Adapt what is useful, reject what is useless, and add what is specifically your own." I believe that Crowley lived this way and applied this same approach to magick. He tried everything he could get his hands on and discarded what didn't work. I think that anyone who is serious about high magick must have Liber ABA; this is Crowley's Tao of Jeet Kune Do. The principles and practices of Thelema are expertly and explicitly laid out, true evidence of the genius in Crowley. And of course, Liber AL is my sanctuary and the wellspring of my soul.
I've been to many and participated as Priest in many...one of the greatest experiences in my life. No one but a Priestess/Goddess can elevate a Dead Man/Priest to his God-form. No one but a Priestess/Goddess can elevate the masses to their Goddess/God-form.
93. I joined the OTO in IV6 (Thelema Lodge). I'm ecclectic. I've been everything from grocery clerk, NASA Sr Scientist, to RN. My musical tastes are from John Philip Sousa, the Doors, to Rob (White) Zombie. Food? I'll eat anything but insects! 93/93
