Blind Dog Haven provides homes for mostly small blind or visually impaired dogs, and at times other small dogs with special needs. Blind dogs are truly amazing and make great pets. Most of them easily learn their way around and if nothing changes much in their environment they do great. If taken for walks or away from home on a leash it is hard to tell they are blind.
The purpose of this group is to seek foster homes in Washington State or other nearby states if you are willing to drive to a meeting at least twice a year.
If you want to foster a blind dog, until adoption is accomplish or as a trial for adopting yourself, and be a member of the Blind Dog Haven team please join this group and visit our main website at www.blinddoghaven.com. Also please feel free to ask any questions. Below are the dogs that currently are in need of placement.
Rosie and Daisy are two wonderful little doxie sisters who are blind and deaf (well Rosie can hear a bit). They are full of life and love, happy little girls. They could go to different homes but would probably be happier together. Rosie and Daisy are aprox. 2 years old.
Buddy is a blind chiweenie. He is a very gentle soul, you never hear a peep out of him. He loves to be loved but is very unassuming, certainly not demanding. He doesn't seem to care about being around other dogs, but also doesn't mind it either. Buddy does have a mild seizure disorder, but is not on medication. We are not sure of Buddy's age but he is a young dog, probably 3 or so.
