The party had been summoned to the Dwarven monastery of the Sundered Chain after reporting to them their adventures. While there, they met with Balgram, one of the chief custodians of the monastery. He had reservations about whether Rheinhart and General Ozal posed any threat that the Dwarves could not take care of themselves. He also felt that the Yuan-ti, possible with the help of the Scorpion Clan Drow, were the true threats behind these events.

He asked the party to investigate a meeting between the Yuan-ti and the Drow at one of the Yuan-ti's military outpost. The orders were quite clear, discover any plans against the Sundered Chain and weaken the outpost. With that, the party set out for Yuan-ti lair.

Following a serious of encounters that nearly cripple the party, they destroy all the Yuan-ti teleportation portals used to call reinforcements and discover that the Yuan-ti and Drow have entered into an alliance to destroy the sundered chain. However, no involvement of Rheinhart or General Ozal was found. The Party allowed the Yuan-ti and Drow ambassadors to escape with the understanding that they would aid the party in destroying the true threats to peace, Rheinhart and General Ozal.

Okay, sounds good. I'll probably set Gologov Cain the Half-Orc Rogue up to L9 and have him at the ready.

"character template from the monster manuals" --Do you mean the templates in the DMG or the monster races found in the Monster Manuals? I don't have the MM2, so there may be templates in there. Just being sure.

I think at this point, you could choose whatever. Most roles, with the exception of controller have overlaps. Just for fun, I'll also allow any character template from the monster manuals.

We are rapidly reaching the conclusion of this story arc. As you can tell from last week, the challenges are getting tougher and there is a risk of character death. It may be wise for everyone to have a second character rolled up.

Just so everyone is aware, I'm having a meeting in my house this sunday morning. It will be over by 1, but because of that, people won't be able to show up early.

Ah, so like a precognitive. I get it now.
  • Posted Jun 24, 2009 6:30 AM
...Nor was anything in the campaign Penny-Arcade related. I just found the coincidence amusing and wanted to point it out.

It's the quality of having knowledge of something before it happens. In this case, it wasn't true prescience as Chris's flayer was not the big baddie that almost killed the party this time.
