The group has been hot on Tobi's tracks and have followed his portal into Neil's home of Jarlsburg. In their adventure, the party has discoverd that the city has been in discord due to heavy taxes from the King, causing many riots led by Samuel Brownback, and a reduced output of food. The fields of Jarlsburg have been plagued with pests who have devoured large portions of crops and portions of livestock have gone missing. In addition, a few major trade deals are being negotiated right now; The trade agreement with the eladrin prince of Lithantha and one with Oryn of Garrotta.

Characters start at 5th level:
-The players start with 4,600 gold

-No monstrous races

After dealing the crushing blow the the Lich and his phylactery, the party exposed much of Tobi's plans. King Barlock was now a puppet of this Tobi and much of the empire's secrets were being siphoned from Barlock.

The natives of Grayga had been drove from their lands by the might of the Utaro armies, but they have not crumbled. In fact the area known as the Scarincien Gap is proof enough of the capabilities of these Shadar-kai. Army after Utaro army fell upon rocks at the feet of their greatest cities within Scarincien, though the Utaro empire was able to secure the lands close to the Vein River.

Tobi's journals speak of inspiring the Shadar-kai to pour forth from their cities and rightfully reclaim the land of their ancestors, the territory of Grayga.

The scribblings of Tobi speak of gates that open into other planes of existence or are merely prisons to things best left unseen by human eyes. He simple leaves the comment, "perhaps I shall find a way to open them to incite chaos".

Assassination is underlined by Tobi and prior to this word is the names of many important figure heads within the empire.

The notes, speak of isolating cities and territories by disrupting trade within the empire. "Perhaps I can utilize these rebel's blind hatred to force the empire's economies to collapse", Tobi has scribbled.

But the journal's were not to be the only piece unearthed this day. A secret chamber resonated with the energy of conjuration magic. This energy consisted of four individual rifts that lead to the following locations: Deslana, Yarnoch, Bel'sira, and Jarlsburg. Neil was able to discern that only one of these rifts had been used recently and it could be possible to reopen it.

The rift into Deslana lead into the heart of a Shadar-kai army that Cael estimated seven thousand strong. After making short work of the guards next to the rift, the group set off into the encampment. After Grawr stealthed to where the man Nakata Tobi was speaking to this army, the party was convinced to "nip this problem in the bud" and take out Tobi. Unfortunately, when the party arrived Tobi's had left the area and in his stead were several pairs of eyes surrounding the PCs.

The heroes continued deep into the Lich's Lair and were able to successfully put an end to his reign of terror by killing him and destroying his phylactery. The Lich's room held one other item of interest, the Key to the locked doors.

Inside that door next to the prison was a personal chamber of Nakata Tobi. The room was filled with books and held a secret door that lead to a room of magical rifts that could be connected to if the means to opening them was discovered. Lucky for the party, they discovered just that within a book describing the nature of portals and some common rituals associated with them. That would not be the last discover made this day though, in fact the notes of Tobi talked about his various arcane experiments involving the creation of many of the monstrous creatures the party has recently battled.

But the most shocking bit of information was yet to come, as Neil and Kaddim poured over the notes they found Tobi's journal detailing an very interesting encounter with a King from a local empire. Tobi describes his intentions to corrupt this King and utilize the word coming from the man's mouth to manipulate him and his country. His first order of business, to create some chaos....
