The party, having let The Warduke escape by the skin of his teeth, set out to finish the last threat, General Ozal. However, the party runs into the last trap set by The Warduke. A deadly choice, save Alek the Paladin from being eaten alive by stinking Kruthiks in the dungeon but surprise General Ozal or save the paladin but face the alert general. The party chose to enter the dungeon to save their companion.
The party searched every cell for their companion while fighting against the remnants of Rheinhart and Ozal's forces. Alek fought off swarm after swarm of kruthiks while he was locked in his cell. The party raced faster and faster to save their companion while at the same time preventing the other prisoners from escaping. The kruthiks knock Alek unconscious as the party struggles to find their party member. Alek the paladin fought the valiant fight in the name of Kord, but ultimately sacrificed his life.
The party decided to avenge their friend and fought up to General Ozal. Finally, they destroyed his bone golem body. With his defeat, his body exploded knocking most of the party unconscious. The final few standing members defeated the last of the soldiers. Ozal's body may have died, but there was a hint of his soul remaining within his soul gem.
The party decided to head back to the temple of Kord to recuperate only to discover the temple had been ransacked and all the inhabitants murdered. What will the party do next? Can they remove the eye of Vecna from Vorn's head? Will the 20,000 coin bounty placed on each of the parties head's by the Yuan-ti be there undoing? Who has been supplying the strange weapons to the city of Winterhaven? What will the party do with Ozal's Gem? Can they capture or kill The Warduke to finish avenging their past party mates Kheldon Gunthar and Alek Stormanvil? Why is otyugh snott an aphrodisiac in some regions?
