Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time. The name “Kiwanis” means “we trade” or “we share our talents.” It was coined from an American Indian expression, Nunc Kee-wanis. Our club differs from the other local Kiwanis clubs in that we cater to those with a busy lifestyle by adopting a 3-2-1 philosophy: (3) hours of service a month; (2) hours of socialization a month; (1) hour meeting a month. Our members are generally younger than the average Kiwanis age (57), though there is no age limit on joining the club. Anyone looking to make a difference in the lives of children within the community are good candidates for our club.
