Hi! I'm new to this group, keen to get involved and practice public speaking. I just wondered, does everyone who attends get to speak and what's the difference between guests and members? Thanks.

Hello Alice. Yes everyone basically gets to speak (and this leads to the difference between members and non-members). Members are the ones who are actually conducting the speetches trough out the evening. The non-member get to be spectators of the event and if they wish, sign up for an impromptu "table topics" segment during the evening, whereby everyone can get up on stage for two minutes to talk anything about a topic set by the segment host. Hope this clarified.

      Hi Alice,

Thanks for your interest in the club.

It's free to attend our meetings as a guest but to participate fully - e.g. give a prepared speech - you need to be a member.

Members pay an annual fee of £100.

Basically being a member of this Meetup group is not the same as being a paid-up member of the club.

I'd recommend coming along to one of our meetings to find out a bit more.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
