Bluegrass Canoe and Kayak Group Message Board › Kayak and Canoe Rentals
Someone asked via private message if there were places to rent boats at some of the Meetups. I only knew of a few, but figured someone else might know of others or have more information. Several of these you'll still have to either transport the boat, or make arrangements for it to either be taken to the put-in and/or takeout.
Canoe Kentucky http://www.canoeky.co... on Elkhorn Creek, of course. There is a suggested meetup there with no date, just need people to show interest by signing up. They have a small River View Park location in downtown Frankfort that is open seasonally, but I don't know the dates. We currently don't have a Meetup scheduled there.
Three Trees http://www.threetrees... on the Kentucky over by Ft. Boonesborough. We have a Meetup scheduled near there without a date on it. Waiting for the river to go down. Never been to that particular rental place.
Sugar Creek Resort http://sugarcreekreso... on the Kentucky south of Nicholasville. We don't have a Meetup starting there now. I've paddled by the landing there, it doesn't look like it gets used that much and might be muddy most of the spring.
Still Waters Campground http://stillwaterscam... on the Elkhorn near the Kentucky above Frankfort. We don't have any Meetups starting there.
Red River Adventure http://www.redriverad... on the Red River in RRG. We don't have a Meetup there at this time.
I've seen signs for renting boats on the way down to the High Bridge ramp on the Kentucky, but can't find anything about it. Would have to call the number on the signs.
Outside of our area, there is River City Canoe and Kayak in Louisville - think they have a little place on Harrods Creek that is open seasonally and there are two places over near Mammoth Cave near the Green River.
