Paddlefest 2013

Please join us for the 12th Annual Paddlefest weekend, June 20-22 at Coney Island Park.

Cincinnati is the paddling capital of the United States and the Ohio River Paddlefest is the largest canoe/kayak paddling event in the Midwest with over 2,200 paddlers making their annual trek down the Ohio river during Paddlefest. It is a celebration dedicated to enjoying the experience of “paddling the Ohio River” one of Cincinnati’s greatest natural assets that sits right in our own back yard. Paddlefest is a fun filled family event designed to bring people together to paddle, enjoy the outdoors, listen to great local music and much more for the whole family.

Paddlefest Weekend begins on Thursday, June 20 with the Kids Outdoor Adventure Expo.

At Kids Expo 2013, children will have the opportunity to visit our new and improved Kids Expo! This year’s expo will be divided into 4 villages that include Let’s Move, Let’s Explore, Let’s Go Green and Let’s Splash! Kids will have numerous opportunities to learn about everything from fishing to paddling to Zumba, Tai Chi, recycling, how to go green to learn to be future stewards of the environment. And, all of the learning takes place outdoors in a fun environment at Coney Island. In addition to these opportunities they will learn how to hook and catch a fish, all about renewable energy source, different types of bird species, how to reduce, reuse and recycle, composting, gardening, visit a petting zoo, basic bike safety, nutrition games and much more. Every child is also taught about water safety, how to act in and around water, how to safely paddle in water and the proper way to wear a life jacket. There is something for everyone at the Kids Expo and the exhibitors and presenters have interactive displays and presentations to engage the children to have fun while learning at the same time.
