Here are a few accessories you, or you can probably get someone close to you, to make. I know at the Grayson Lake Meetup we determined there were a lot of engineers or children of engineers in the group.

Kayak cart. Here is where I got the directions­, but there are several different versions out on the web for this style, and others.

Kayak accessory rack. Plans and directions here: http://www.bluegrassw...­. I've since modified it to hold 3 paddles. Dimensions are all the same, just added a couple of holes for a paddle between the other two. Added two more pegs as well.

Kayak clothes drying rack. Actually, a Shaker drying rack I built long before starting to paddle, but its just plain useful. Throw wet clothes on when you come in, or dry them when they come out of the wash. Plans here: http://www.bluegrassw...­

Thanks for posting this, Don. Very helpful. I'm thinking about making some type of pulley system so I can lift and lower my boat onto my car by myself.
