Play Games

Welcome to our regular Wednesday night board games session: 3 - 4 hours of good fun and the perfect way to break up the working week.

We play a wide variety of games. There will be some that you will have heard of and some that you may not have heard of. Some will last a whole evening, whilst others will only be a hour or so. Some are seriously strategic, but most are fairly light hearted. In short, something for everybody!

We'll be playing in groups of 3 - 6 players, so there's always plenty of choice each week. If there's a particular game that you want to play, then please suggest it in the comment's section below or else sign up if somebody has already suggested a game.

Of course, everybody and anybody is welcome to join :)

Hi mate its round from the bus station across from the Chinese restaurant if that's any help? There's a guy in the booth but he leaves at seven.

I'm thinking of running something like Ticket to Ride or Power Grid for the newbies, but I'd also like to show them something dexterity based. Does anyone have something they wouldn't mind bringing? ForkBeard, like your bausack =)

As so many people are offering TTR I'll leave my copy at home. But new maps do sound interesting Andre. Do we know if any of our new members from last week are coming tonight?

I'm thinking of bringing along Star Trek Catan, which Andre has already expressed an interest in. We'll be seeking "to boldy go where no Settler has gone before". If anybody wants to join us, please wear your red expendable crewman shirt.

Star Trek Catan is LOADS better as it has a power that lets you get resources even if like me your dice number NEVER comes up. If I am remembering correctly of course, I think it was the Spock power but hey it was a few years ago since I played it :)

You can get helpers of Catan, which are pretty much the crew cards. And a deck of cards to replace the dice which adds events, and makes less random. I'll bring the mini expansions with me incase anyone wants to try them with their own copy =)

Does anyone know how to play the Lord of the Rings cooperative game? I'm struggling with the rules of my copy, and can't find a video.

Hi Guys. Does anybody fancy suburbia(little bit like sim city) or keyflower (resource management game)

    July 7

    • Jonathan B.

I'm very tempted as keyflower this is one of my favourites and I've been wanting to play surburbia since I tried it on the ipad, but I may be playing TtR. I'm certain you'll have takers on the night, especially as the games are so accessible. Have fun =)

If anybody hasn't discovered our Photo Gallery yet, which features many of the games we've played over the last couple of years (including our very first session in August 2012), then have a look at it here: http://www.meetup.com/Board-Gam... There hasn't been too many recent additions, so please do add to it if you take any photos on games nights.
