We haven't played this fun game for a while... If you are new to the game don't worry - it takes about 15 minutes to learn the game, and 5 minutes before the paranoia sets in...

I'm waiting for Asaf to send me the rest of the pics.

I looked over this: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/ffg_content/Battlestar_Galactica/bsg_FAQ_1-1-1.pdf and found the following:
Q: Can a revealed Cylon player activate heavy raiders using the “Cylon Fleet” location in order to advance Centurions up the boarding party track?A: Yes. He may even do this if there are not any heavy raiders or basestars on the game board.
Q: What happens if an unrevealed Cylon is targeted by an “Ex- ecutive Order” and reveals himself as his first action.A: He would be unable to take his second action. (Following the “Revealed Cylon Players” instructions on page 19, his turn ends after revealing). The current player then continues his turn.
So, it seems to me that the Centurions track is better than we expected and we didn't progress it at all on our turns; and that Asaf was playing by the rules when he revealed himself on an XO. Just FYI.
It was a great game, guys!
Humans: Moshe, Allon, JoshCylons (all 1st round): Aviad, Asaf.
The humans had a great start. The first 10 crisis cards or so had barely any effect on them whether they lost them or not, and they played really well the ones that had bad effects as they kept their cards close and useful. They easily reached the distance of 4, and because me and Asaf were so mute (we really couldn't do anything) they probably thought that not so many Cylons were out there.
However, the 2nd half brought some bad juju and me and Asaf were between a rock and a hard place, and had to reveal ourselves.
See pics for more info!
In addition, I made a tactical mistake: I eagerly placed a bad card, my only card, in a skill check, and Allon then said "take the card back, I want to do Investigative Committee". Now, obviously if I took the card back and he placed that, everyone would know I'm a Cylon; so I said it wouldn't be fair - not too helping on my side either. Fortunately Josh was the only one to catch up on that, but didn't say anything (for some odd reason). I didn't take too many chances and in my next turn I revealed myself.
Another interesting point was how we got revealed. There were loads of Cylon raiders about and the humans were anxious to get at them, asking me to shoot at the basestar, which I obviously refused as the humans had a great start and this could have been my only chance. I revealed but couldn't do anything and had to wait a whole round. When it came to Allon's turn, he XO'd Asaf to use his special ability and deploy 6 vipers; however, Asaf used this opportunity to reveal himself, placing Moshe into the brig, and since he was playing immediately after Allon, using his Super Crisis immediately at the humans. Since Moshe was in the brig he couldn't do much other than try to get out - the humans wasted most of their cards on Asaf's Super Crisis (fail), Moshe getting out of the brig (fail) and then when my Super Crisis arrived (which activated everything on the board) they couldn't do anything.
And yet another interesting debate: there was the question of whether the Cylons really had to reveal themselves, because things went worse for the humans anyway. Let me say it from my perspective at least, and I can add a bit of Asaf's as we talked this over the table a bit: what the Cylons do mostly when they are revealed is choose the worse possible Crisis (we chose four Crisis that forced the humans to give up on resources, with either no chance to resolve through Skill Checks or with a marginal (and failing) chance to do so. Since Moshe was the President, he would have skipped all of those Crises altogether), ...
... "assist" in Skill Checks (after Moshe and Josh went into the brig, we helped failing their escape time after time), and activating the Cylon fleet if it exists, which got the civvies to die really quickly. That, in addition to the fact that we Didn't assist against the Cylon fleet (which we could as "Chief" and "Apollo"), put down the humans quite a lot. Fact is that when a fleet is out there, you can't do a lot of deception: you either shoot at them or you don't, you either repair the ship or you don't. So MHO is that the humans would have won, even if marginally so, if we kept ourselves hidden and took down the Cylon fleets as they appeared.
You pretty much summed it all up quite well. I'm reminded about how Moshe (President) and Josh (Admiral) both accused each other of being a Cylon, and both asked me (as Gaius Baltar) to use my once-a-game ability, "Cylon Detector", on the other person to prove that he is indeed a Cylon. But I wasn't sure on which of the two to use it. Before I was able to reach my decision, both Aviad and Asaf revealed themselves as Cylons, making my ability useless. But if I had used it, taking into account both Moshe and Josh were actually humans, revealing one of them as human would throw severe suspicions on the other, which I believe would have been interesting (and even further reducing the survival chance of us humans). Indeed a fascinating game.
One of the fascinating aspects of this game is that humans are so paranoid, especially after the sleeper phase, that we pretty much nearly self-destructed, accusing each other of being cylons.
Sorry Moshe, the picture was just too good to be missed from the eyes of the crowds: https://www.facebook.com/events/194565427357789/permalink/199152356899096/
Great game! First time I've won in this damn difficult game.. And as a Cylon, with humans on the lead!
Hehe. We lost badly... ;-)
Pics and info coming up!
Hm. My guest isn't coming eventually. But I can't change my RSVP for some reason. :-/
Anyway, we might play a game of 5, is what I'm saying..

OK, here's an odd question: can this be either made earlier to, say, 5PM, or postponed to the next day? I haven't noticed this is Shavuot Eve and it might cause conflicts..

I can only start after the kids go to sleep, so it cant be before 21:00, and I cant the following evening. sorry.
I can host at any hour if you're willing to bring the game.
Hi Allon. Thank you for the offer, but I meant that in any case 21:00 is the earliest no matter where. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
I thought 7 was the earliest time, that's why I set it to 7 originally. Is that the new anti-curfew?
Hehe. I thought you are the one with the curfew on the upcoming game night.
Yeah, but yours is an anti-curfew. :) OK, how about starting it later? At 10PM for example?
22:00 is OK. Is the new time cool with everyone? Lets try to accommodate Aviad. Please let me know if it's ok.
Ugh, well... if we must.
Yeah much better for me
Josh what about u?
Allon, in case you haven't played before, I recommend viewing a few short videos in BoardGameGeek.com:This is the first one, there are 3 more:http://boardgamegeek.com/video/5371/battlestar-galactica/rules-primer-video-14Don't worry though I'll also give a rules recap for everyone, since its been a while since we played.

Will do, thanks.
Is anyone going there that will be passing near the Nordau/Pinkas area in Tel Aviv?
0 · May 2, 2013
Great, I've been wanting to play this. Also I'd highlight the fact that this falls on Erev Shavuot, not a work night (wasn't obvious to me).
It would be even more feasible for me to start slightly later (or I'll just be slightly late and you'll explain the rules until then..)
Next: Invite friends
We're local Board Game group in Tel Aviv. Currently we play mostly A Game Of Thrones, but we're open to new games. Wanna learn a new game, and meet some interesting people? Wanna introduce new people to a game you love? And most of all - do you want to meet nice people, and have alot of fun?
We want it too :)
Feel free to RSVP and join one of the upcoming meetups.
See you soon!
