The University changed its mind (again!). Capricious bastards.
Let's try Arkham Horror this time.

I really liked this game and think it needs to be played more often. :D

Definitely a can-do. :)
Was great, required a lot of planning and teamwork, think we did it right! (We did, after all, win..).
Ok Aviad, so here's the answer to what we were doing wrong: you don't get sucked through the portal immediately during the movement phase; you get sucked through the portal in the Arkham Encounter Phase. However you do get the explored counter when you use the find gate spell or leave the OW for any reason that doesn't explicitly state that you do not get the encountered token.
Here's the thread I found on board game geek: http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/549188/find-gate-spell
err that should read explored token
So that would have taken 1 extra turn, then?
Hmm yeah at least one
That's not so bad because Yig would have woke only in 2 turns (according to the Mythos cards)
though actually if we'd realized we could do that from the beginning I think a lot of our strategy would have revolved around spamming that spell
Most likely. Sounds like a powerful spell. In addition there was that power surge that would have brought 4 of us back to Arkham - did you check if that would have been considered "Explored"?
Yeah based on one of the first few comments in that thread it sounds like it would have
Did you all get devoured?

We won! Got Yig one turn before he woke!
Aviad please open the door downstairs :)
Sure thing. Guys, the code for downstairs is 1412*, and my number is[masked] if you get lost.
Have fun you guys!
Josh (Inkeles), Gili - are you coming as well?
i am coming
Josh, you've been upped! Will you make it?
Oh ok glad I checked
Yeah I'll make it
But I might be 15-20 minutes late
Hey guys, I totally forgot about the logistics. Does anyone have spare folding chairs and/or table?
And on that note, does anyone have a good suggestion for a good folding table suitable for board games?

we can play standing up. ergonomic.
We can get a large sheet of steel or other ferrous metal and a bunch of strong magnets
Okay guys, everybody vote -- who wants GoT, who wants AH, and who's undecided? We're likely splitting, so we should look at the numbers for split.
I want AH.
0 · December 2, 2012
I want ah too, but I was the seventh to sign up, so if necessary I'll pull out of that.
I've reconsidered, not sure we can pull two games. Not sure if we have the people for it, especially if we have last minute cancellations again.
@Darren - I suggest you change RSVP limit to 6 for this event, and the two who joined last will go to the waiting list. Make sure to use the automatic waiting list.
If more people join the event, I'll create an optional event for AGOT as an alternative.
OK, I've moved people to the Waiting List according to RSVP order. Oded, I suggest you host a GoT event in parallel and if people want to switch to your event they can change their RSVP (and then push the waiting list members up).

Tbh I prefer go
Afraid I can't host on Friday evening after all :(Sorry you guys.
I should be back from Acco in time. I'll notify if I am not.

I just hate it when we have too many friends willing to play :)What do you say, Aviad?
Can we open a competing AGOT/TI game to handle the surplus players?
0 · November 30, 2012
Do we have players? Are you thinking 4 & 4? If that happens I'd prefer to play arkham horror if possible, though I suppose anything is fine. I also have a birthday party that evening that I could attend if we're not splitting the games up and need people to back out.
It can be 4&5 or 3&6, i havn't rsvped for this event yet. I'll see if my feiends from home want to join the extra game, if we have it
Are you suggesting we do both games at the same time, same place?
I understood Oded to be offering his place for the other game.
0 · December 1, 2012
@Aviad split the games!
Secret objective: Two games simultaneousl!
I would prefer the AGOT version of this event. Is it possible to host two games at the same time?
I'm setting it at my place, hopefully it'll be possible..
0 · November 28, 2012
a 7 player game?
Or shall we just cancel this event and re-set-it-up?
Is 7 too many? The BGG listing says up to 8 can play, but I suppose it might take longer.
Better to have 5. Even 6 is too much.
well i guess i'm not in this time :D
Isn't it possible to set a 5 limit now?

Whenever -- let's wait for Aviad to decide (and host!)

We're local Board Game group in Tel Aviv. Currently we play mostly A Game Of Thrones, but we're open to new games. Wanna learn a new game, and meet some interesting people? Wanna introduce new people to a game you love? And most of all - do you want to meet nice people, and have alot of fun?
We want it too :)
Feel free to RSVP and join one of the upcoming meetups.
See you soon!
We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
