Board Gamers League of Canton Pages

What to expect at a meetup:

A lot of friendly people who love to play board games. We average 60 players per meetup. Mostly adults, but some kids too. This group is centered around people with a passion for playing great board games. It's not a singles event with a board game theme. Thats not to say that you won't meet that special someone here, but the games are really the reason we exist.

Come and go as you please, stay the whole time (≈6 hours) or just play a single game. It's all up to you.

We play a lot of different board games and card games. Rules will be taught before nearly every game, usually one or more players are new to the game or have not played recently. Often one player will know the rules and teach it directly.

No set agenda, people just naturally gravitate to a game and start playing. This group leans more towards Eurogames, such as Puerto Rico, Power Grid and Agricola. If you have a game you're dying to play, bring it and chances are good that you can convince someone to try it.

Many players are new to gaming and are just discovering the local gaming community. Others are old-hands and have been in and around the "scene" for many years. We do have some war-gamers and some light miniatures games are played but no role playing or Magic the Gathering.

Feel free to bring your own refreshments, but please be conscientious. Games are expensive, an accident can wreak havoc with cardboard and paper bits. Feel free to enjoy your food and drink, but use a covered container for drinks or keep them off the playing surface, and no greasy fingers please :-)

At around 6:00 pm, for those who are interested in continuing the fun, we recharge our batteries before meeting back at Warriors III for more gaming into the wee hours (>2am).

For dinner it's the world famous L. Georges Coney Island on Michigan Avenue about a mile east of Canton Center Road. The food is very good, the prices are reasonable and they always seem to have a large table ready for us when we arrive without reservations.
