How to use the Library's projection system during meetings

  • Needs a date

  • Needs a location

  • A couple of ideas on how to use the projector (and someone's laptop) during our meetings.

    1. PowerPoint presentations of 5-6 slides from sponsors (or local game retailers, Bailey's, etc.). The slides would have minimal (preferably no) audio and would present basic info like store address, phone #, hours of operation, map location, photos (exterior, interior, merchandise), curren specials, regular events, upcoming events, etc. A 1-2 minute infomercial without the irritationg huckstering.

    2. Playback some of the Boardgamegeek or YouTube video reviews of different games; or game tutorials.

    3. Lists of games we're playing and games in need of a players. This might be more difficult to pull off due to the temporary nature of the information. Maybe you could write up a slide to let everyone know that a certain game will start at a specific time?

I'm no lawyer, but as a private organization, we would have right to censor any abuses (i.e. coarse language or inappropriate material) of the system.

I was thinking more like using this to get gift cards every month from game retailers, Bailey's ... and whoever else sees it as an advertising opportunity. Another way to say "Thank you" for the gify cards and to keep them coming.

I think this is a great idea, does anyone else hear the sound of advertising income :-)

I m sure if the library doesn't have "rules" about its use that some of us "geeks" could set it up no problem, Probably even hook it up to a laptop, not sure how well a games "open" would work but it could be worth a try
