Pub Werewolf night! (also tabletop games)

Pub Werewolf night! (also tabletop games)

6.30 pm, till late

The Local Taphouse

184 Carlisle St, St Kilda

(near 3, 16 & 78 trams and Balaclava train station)

Entry is free, but you'll have the option to make a gold coin donation (to Amnesty International and/or the Electronic Frontier Foundation).

Join us in the Local Taphouse's games room for an evening of social gameplay in the classic game of deception and detection.

We will be running games of Werewolf throughout the night, and anyone is welcome to join. If you're eliminated and don't want to stick around and watch until the next game, the Local has a small collection of board games - or you're welcome to bring your own and play with other gamers! (Easy jump-in-and-out games will make it easy to mesh with the ebb and flow of Werewolf players.)

We usually get through three games per group, with a 20- to 30-minute break between each, and we're currently getting a couple of groups going at once - and there are usually a few people sitting out for meals and/or other games as well, so other gaming is always an option too.

Fun night ya'll! My +1 enjoyed it too and has every intention of returning for the next months bash. Are we starting to bring a lot of table tap games too to the night now? I'm imagining Eurogames are prob not what the night's about but quick and easy games I imagine are good time fillers. I can bring Munchkin along next time if anyone cares to partake. Thanks to Dave for teaching me 3 new games last night!

I was thinking somewhere a little closer in - probably Brunswick - but I'm open to Preston if we have the numbers and a venue with decent space/food/drink...

Hey everyone, just to note here that the date for next month is the 14th of May, not the 7th as expected. After that we are back to the first Tuesday as normal for June and July. If there's a lot of interest in another night sooner at another venue I can look into trying to make that happen... let me know!

Hi Jason, I am so glad that you enjoyed the 3 Boardgames and quick to play fun card games that I brought along which were called Blink, Skibo and the Monopoly Deal card games:) Plus I'm glad you enjoyed playing Zombie Dice and my favorite game Qwirkle! I know Phil has always made us welcome to bring along table top games that are quick to play, just so they fit between games of Werewolves or for when we are killed and want to fill in time:)

Ok, here's a comment for you: no Elder Sign tonight, but I am bringing Dominion: Seaside for those who have played the base game before (Seaside is not an expansion I'd be particularly comfortable teaching to newcomers; it adds extra gameplay mechanics that confuse things a little for those who have never played Dominion before.) Unfortunately, I forgot the nifty mats and tokens, but there are ways to cope without them if necessary.

If we are going to be 30-60 minutes late is there still reason to come or should we wait till next time? It's an hour commute and have work till 530ish.

Come anyway. There will be games starting throughout the evening; if there's one in progress when you arrive, the odds are excellent that there will be people eliminated that will be happy to play something else to fill in time, or to generally chinwag about the game.
