One MORE Pub Werewolf night! (also tabletop games)

Pub Werewolf night! (also tabletop games)

6.30 pm, till late

The Local Taphouse

184 Carlisle St, St Kilda

(near 3, 16 & 78 trams and Balaclava train station)

Entry is free, and we even get a discount on one of the tap beers! You'll also have the option to make a gold coin donation (to Amnesty International).

Join us in the Local Taphouse's games room for an evening of social gameplay in the classic game of deception and detection.

We will be running games of Werewolf throughout the night, and anyone is welcome to join. If you're eliminated and don't want to stick around and watch until the next game, the Local has a small collection of board games - or you're welcome to bring your own and play with other gamers! (Easy jump-in-and-out games will make it easy to mesh with the ebb and flow of Werewolf players.)

We usually get through three games per group, with a 20- to 30-minute break between each, and we're currently getting a couple of groups going at once - and there are usually a few people sitting out for meals and/or other games as well, so other gaming is always an option too.

Discounted beer! The Local has generously decided to give us a discount on one of their tap beers. Mention that you're playing Werewolf and they'll give you the Budvar for $5! (Hmm, what to do with the money you save...? Donate some of it to Amnesty perhaps?)

Loved it. Especially being the village florist with all my powers. ;)

Fabulous night folks - thanks for the send-off, and thanks to Giacomo and Angela for giving me such capable hands in which to leave the event! See you around again...

Oh - and to answer Giacomo's text, which I didn't see till after midnight and then forgot to answer the next morning (sorry Giacomo): Whoever was the Tanner and got BOTH eaten by werewolves AND hexed by the Witch doesn't win twice... but they totally deserve to. That is one story I want to hear.

The guy claimed to be the Seer after the 1st round (maybe the second), claiming that we're already 2 people down, and that was something to worry about. It was pretty much a move that made everyone think he was an idiot and wanted him out of the game, so I, as the witch, having already saved myself and not knowing wether this was my last chance to kill someone, decided to kill him for the sake of having a quick game. Just so happens the werewolves had similar thoughts. (Oh, and just an extra amusement from the game, I saved myself when the werewolves had no intention of killing me - they wanted me to join them via the Alpha wolf. Wasted!)

I haven't played Werewolf before but am keen to learn! Is this event good for a total newbie?

If you like group games you'll definitely enjoy it. The more you play the better you get and the more fun it becomes learning new roles to undertake.

New players are always welcome! Just identify yourself as such when you arrive and we'll run through the rules with you. (The basics are pretty simple.) Then just jump in! The best way to learn is to play.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
