Party & Social Games Session @ Cafe Games

Yes, this is a dedicated session for all kinds of party and social games! No euros or strategy games (until 5).
More of a social club than a strategy session!

The restaurant lunch menu is available from the bar from 12 to 3 and drinks too! "Eat, drink and be merry!"

If you’re new, I highly recommend you start during this session, so you get to meet a variety of people, in some lighter games, before getting into the long strategic games of the later session.

We’re looking for

Party games, like Dixit, Pictionary, Telestrations, Taboo, Cranium, Reverse Charades, Billionaire, Perpetual Commotion, Articulate, Anomia, Cards Against Humanity etc

• Word games, like Scrabble, Scattergories, Boggle

• Tile games, like Qwirkle, Rummikub, Dominos,

• Card games, like Uno, 500, Bridge, Canasta

• Dexterity games, like Jenga, Crokinole, Bausack and Foosball

• and of course the Psychological/Negotiation games like Werewolf (Mafia), The Resistance, Bohnanza

If you've never played these games before, we're more than happy to show you how. :-)

You’ll notice that after 5pm the latter half of this session overlaps with the “All Games” event. You’re welcome to stay on and continue to play lighter games or even try some more strategic games. ( In case you’re wondering, ruling is, Munchkin is strategy. )

Yes I will be bringing along *some* games, but this sort of event works best when everyone helps out.

GOLD COIN donation appreciated - helps with costs.

Pay: for food, drink as you go. (This is a restaurant, not your mate's garage, so I should not need to spell out that it's inappropriate to bring your own food and drink)

I'm here, but it's completely empty. Is anyone else coming?

Timothy, what is your complaint about? You saw the "how to find us" so you already knew we were upstairs. For people who didn't know we were upstairs, there was a sign that the staff put next to the lift. I saw the sign there myself, so don't say it was "non-existing".

I don't know when you checked but it wasn't when I arrived around half an hour after the listed time. Anyway, I didn't see it, and I did look around a bit. I asked and was directed to the list and that's fine enough to me.

I enjoyed playing Anomia, and learning how to play Cash 'n Guns. The people I met seemed friendly.

Sorry I couldn't attend today/tonight as a newbie, however would love to attend another CBD based event in the future, can I get a confirmation on the next date?

Its a monthly event and there are other CBD events held weekly/biweekly. If you've joined the group you will get notifications or look under "Upcoming Meetups" on the left side of the screen

Bradley normally it's a recurrent event but each December we have a games picnic instead, I'll be checking out the dates for that shortly

Sadly very sick with double pneumonia.

Hi Christopher, might make it to this. But unsure as I have an eye infection (but no cool eyepatch to rock the look). So Fluxx type games are ok at this session? I have finally got the money made for Unexploded Cow and it seemed people enjoyed it Monday night.

    • Timothy T.

Yeah it's an insanely variable game. The rules of course go all over the place too.

Fluxx is awesome. You either love it or hate it. Sadly, most people seem to dislike its randomness

Lost pieces and games! Just a reminder that we're looking for whoever brought Blokus and Lords of Waterdeep last month. Let me know.

Also if you bring games, check the bottom of this blog post to see if we have found any of your pieces:

Unfortunately looks like I won't be able to make it. My missing Cosmic card will have to wait.

Marking a yes on attending, but it could change. I've got Snake Oil and a (adult players only) cheekily suggestive anime-themed game called Tentacle Bento (if it's allowed).

Ahhh this is the game that got the Penny Arcade guys in trouble right?
Well it's an adult event, so people can make up their own opinions whether they want to play or avoid the game.

Do you enjoy the game? This charitable video review suggests, theme aside, that it isn't much fun.

I don't know yet - I just got it at PAX. I don't know about Penny Arcade getting into trouble for it, but it got booted from Kickstarter at least. Those guys have got no sense of fun, it's tamer than half the anime out there that nobody looks at twice.

Oh, I have a dexterity game called Disc Duelers, and Story War as well -nearly forgot.
