Those of you who read the Age newspaper might have read the Feature article yesterday about drugs sold online. I was intrigued to notice the journalist was someone who'd attended my charity boardgames event last year, Eiley Ormsby.
On complementing her on her article she mentioned that she could use our help with a new warm'n'fuzzy feature about people who met their significant others on the interwebs, but not through matchmaking services - so from posting on the same forum or playing online games etc. She wouldn't mind putting a meetup one in it, so long as its not a meetup geared towards singles.
I know that some of you gamers have met through the meetup events and have hooked up. I even know one couple who had their first date at a Cafe Games event and are now married!
If any of you would be willing to be interviewed about this, please contact [address removed]
Of course our Meetup events are not intended to be singles events - everyone is welcome - but if people form bonds over a love of games, then that's a lovely thing :-)
