Travelling to the Festival Boardgames

Hi everyone,

Just a last-minute check to make sure you've seen the links on the event listing that show where the event is and also the changes to public transport today. Here they are again - we're down on the foreshore at the base of the St Kilda Pier, but the streets are blocked off around that area. Parking is a nightmare for some distance around the area, so your best bet is to get public transport at least part of the way into the precinct; perhaps park a couple of suburbs away and tram the rest of the way?

[Map to exact location here]

[Important information about public transport]

Trams should be frequent but today they will stop at the corner of Fitzroy St and Grey St/Canterbury Rd at one end and the corner of Acland St and Carlisle St at the other end.

If you get off at the Acland St stop, walk around the Esplanade (past Luna park) till you get to an overpass bridge on your left that goes over Jacka Boulevard and spirals down to the foreshore. (It's nearly opposite the Espy, aka the Esplanade Hotel.) There's a kiosk right at the foot of that bridge, and then some tents closer to the Pier - that's us!

If you get off at the Fitzroy St stop, walk up Fitzroy St a couple of blocks, following the tram tracks. Keep an eye out on your right for the overpass bridge mentioned above - if you make it to the Espy you will have just passed it. Cross over to the foreshore, then walk towards the base of St Kilda Pier. You should see our tents right there!

If you get lost, Festival staff will be able to direct you. Look for the "St Kilda Festival" T-shirts. If it helps, we are in grid reference J4, aka "Juliet 4", on the Festival site maps.

Thanks folks - look forward to seeing you there! Hope you have a chance to enjoy some of the Festival's other offerings too :)
