DASH 5 Puzzle Hunt

Jonathan originally posted this as a suggested event, but since it is not board game-relates, I have moved the announcement here.

The DASH Puzzle Hunt is back and open for registration! This will be the third year that it's been in Austin, and is a ton of fun. If you've never done a puzzle hunt before, it's super awesome! You get a team of folks and you go from station to station solving all kids of different puzzles. It culminates in the end with a super meta-puzzle. The puzzles challenge all kinds of different skills and thought processes, and it's really just massively fun.

It will take place on May 18 starting at 10 AM. Expect it to last most of the day, and you do have ample opportunity to take breaks, eat, and rest when you like. Teams should be between 3 and 5 people, but feel free to be flexible with that team size. Surprisingly, bigger teams aren't at an inherent advantage. More information can be found at the Austin FAQ:
As to the location, the teams will be informed of the exact spot to meet before the event. The past two years have taken place around the Capitol building, if that helps.

Cost is just $40 for the entire team (so that's just $8 each for a 5 person team), and you can sign up your team now at

B&B's own Valerie (aka Shuffles) is running it again this year, and it's shaping up to be great. I've had a blast with it the past couple years, and you will, too! Several board gamers have participated before, so you'll be in good company. It's a well thought out structure, and the puzzles are always interesting and challenging. For sure, a day well spent. If you have any questions, just shoot an e-mail to

Hope to see you all there!

Also: If you can't make it that day, but are still interested in doing puzzles, there may be playtesting opportunities available. Contact Valerie at to see what is still available.
