Meditation & Buddhist Study with Dharma Teacher Khedrub Zangmo.
This class has been ongoing in Pasadena since January 2004.
We meet every Wednesday from 7pm – 9pm for
Meditation, Teachings and Discussion at the Pasadena Senior Center.
The first half of the class focuses on the practice of meditation. Meditation instruction is offered at the beginning of class.
If the session has already begun when you arrive, please feel free to join us.
Any and all questions regarding meditation practice are most welcomed.
The second half of the class we typically read and discuss a section of a Buddhist text in order to understand and apply the teachings to our daily lives.
We are currently studying The Heart Attack Sutra by Karl Brunnhölzl. The Heart Sutra is one of most profound teachings in Buddhism. It explains the meaning of ultimate view, as well as the profound path that leads one to complete Buddhahood. This teaching directly leads one to the perfect understanding of the meaning of emptiness. That understood, it then helps one to gain the realization of emptiness, which frees one from all attachment that is the source of suffering. The realization of emptiness is the source of ultimate happiness and joy, cutting the source of suffering from the root.
Please see our Meetup announcement for more details.
Beginners are always welcomed.
A $10 donation to help support the center is suggested.
However, no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
