24th of July will be the last meeting until September.
We will continue as before to have a discussion around a Buddhist topic and a meditation session of about 30 minutes.
Beginners are welcome.
During June and July, our talks will be on the The Jewel Ornament of Liberation.
During the coming months, we are going to study and discuss a classic text book on Buddhism which was written by the Tibetan monk and saint, Gampopa (1079–1153), who was the founder of the Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism. Most commonly known as “The Jewel Ornament of Liberation,” the book has also been published as “Gems of Dharma, Jewels of Freedom.”
The entire text is available online.
For July, we will touch the following topics.
3 July – The six realms: an overview
10 July – What makes this human life so special?
17 July – What type of person makes the best meditator?
24 July – What qualities of mind make for the best meditator? T
Bodhicharya Diverse is under the guidance of Ringu Tulku Rinpoche.
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans Buddhist Meditation Group has been meeting since January 2004.
It is a regular event, now at 6 30 p.m. on Thursdays, typically with around eight people attending. Everyone is welcome.
The sessions are usually facilitated by Dirk de Klerk.
The evening usually consists of meditation sessions, with guidance and instruction, that are comfortably split in to 10 minute sessions with time for a good stretch in between.
A related topic is also introduced and discussed.
The group is made up of the participants so active engagement, questions, reflections and discussion are welcome, however, if you prefer to just sit back, listen, reflect and take it in that is also very good.
There are comfortable chairs and meditation cushions available.
We recommend a donation of £5.
The group has the guidance of the Tibetan teacher Ringu Tulku and is part of the Bodhicharya network.
