Welcome to body fluency fitness + pilates! In today's world we tend to ignore the messages of our bodies in order to "keep up" and "get the job done". As a result, we end up with weight problems, neck and shoulder tension, back pain, and other ailments. A great remedy for our society's sedentary lifestyle and lack of awareness is found in Joseph Pilates' Methodology. One of Joseph Pilates' favorite quotes was Fredrich von Schiller's "It is the mind itself that builds the body", and he developed a healing practice with that principle at its center. As a result, practitioners of the Pilates Method find incredible relief of neck and shoulder tension, lower back pain, and knee pain through mindful movement. They also find their waist lines slimming, their strength increasing, and their muscles becoming toned and lean. The aim of this group is to create a community of mindful movers. The Pilates Method is a powerful tool for sculpting the body, centering, creating physical and emotional balance, and body awareness. We will have donation-based mat classes out in nature - all proceeds going to charity. Studio-based mat classes and private apparatus classes will also be available.
