EVERY woman has a story. My story made me start this group and I'm so happy to have met a lot of women with the same needs and goals, yet many of these with quite different and interesting stories. Whether you walk with us once or weekly, we'd love to have you! Walk at your own pace or at someone else's. You decide... just get out and DO IT!!!
We usually walk at White Rock Lake or Northpark Center and we tend to walk 3-5 miles (you choose how far you want to go).
This is a casual walk group with a sense of humor, yet remains serious about improvement, sharing tips, experiences, ideas, sales on food and workout clothing, etc. Go to my blog atwww.bodyconomics.com/wordpressfor additional information on walks, healthy dishes around town, etc. If you're the person that says, "I need to exercise, but...", this one is an easy start and an easy progression - plus, you'll have other women around you for support who can truly empathize with you. It's your day-to-day improvement and self discovery that will keep you going... just ask Glenna! She has turned her exercise life and health around and now leads walks. I'm so thankful for her dedication and friendship and watching her change before our eyes at 68 years of age has been monumentally inspirational! Here's my story:
After 30 years of weight management misery, I finally figured out how to take the weight off and KEEP it off - through WALKING. The 35-40 lbs I took off more than 5 years ago was replaced with toned muscles and a mind-body connection I never expected. I'd like to share this with any woman who wants to hear and any woman who experiences some of what I did: migraines, fibromyalgia, arthritis, diet terrors, food addiction, low energy. In my mid-forties and during menopause, my issues have been minimized.
