Introduction

Hi!

Do we have a free will?

I don't think we do, in the sense that we don't have the will to separate ourselves from cause and effect relationships, which implies how I define "free will".

Are you religious, agnostic, atheistic etc? What do you believe? A) How does your belief shape your world/philosophical view? B) How do you view scripture/revelation? C) What is your opinion on evolution?

Atheist A) Humanist POV B) Wishful thinking C) I have no opinion on evolution. It's one of the most well supported theories of science. It just is.

Do the ends justify the means? If yes, why? If not, why not?

Why not.

What is your political orientation (far left, left, center, right, far right…libertarian, apolitical etc.)

Most of my views about the world place me left of center.

Have you ever stabbed somebody with a fork just because he/she didn’t agree with you?

Maybe with a pitch fork, but not a fork ;)

  • "What's nice is not having to step on any toes when it comes to talking about religions. Everything here is already on the table - and nothing can come out of it but GOOD progressive conversation & ideas."

I love this. So true. Well said. :-)

  • Hi, Em:

We're talking about showing some of the Python movies we spoke about ("Life of Brian"; "The Holy Grail"). The thought occurred to me... are you familiar with the comedy "Young Frankenstein". It's now a "classic", too.

If you personally know of any classic "Science" movies that would be fun to watch, let me know. We should come up with a movie night for once a month or something.

    Ciao!
