Success! First venue booked ready for Monday 31st.

I had Kells bar in mind when I first thought of this meetup. I went to Kells bar for the first time on a web design meetup and was impressed. The place reminds me a bit of a English pub.

Oh cool! Yeah I'm new to the Carcassonne games and some of the rules in South seas are a bit confusing so it's good we have a pro on hand :-)

Hopefully the rain stops soon otherwise it's going to be hard walking there with games without getting everything wet. I'll stick to card games I have: Jambo, Gloom, Uno, Dungeoneer, Guillotine.

I've been to Kells for the stand-up comedy shows. Food's pretty good.

Will we be on the first floor or downstairs?

    March 25

    • Sarah

First floor, if we got bigger we could use downstairs too. The bar guy suggested it. It's a bit dark downstairs...

I've been to Kell's a few times; it's on my walk between home and work too!

I'll see what I can bring that's quick to play and easily fits in a duffel bag. ;)

Amazing response so far and I'm very excited about organizing our first meet-up! Apologies if anyone was offended by the age question, just want to make sure that everyone is legal to drink since we will be hosting the games in a drinking establishment. So I was looking out for kids. This is my first time doing this too so I'm learning as we go!

There's no RSVP button for it, but put me down as "Tentative" for this for now.

I think because I haven't chosen a venue yet I can't get people to RSVP. I'm looking to change this very soon :-)

fyi, there is a great, welcoming game group that plays on every other monday nights right by Duboce Park. About 25 people come every time, 7p-12a. its a meet up on here called EGL...check us out!

On the topic of venues, there's a pub with game tables in Inner Sunset, named Little Shamrock, I think. Yep, that's it. I'm on the other side of the city now though.

In my current neighborhood (North Beach), there are tons of bars, but only one I can think of that might work is a local pub named Sweetie's. I guess Rogue is good too because it's pretty dead on weekdays and has a lot of space with big tables.

Thanks Nathan, I'm looking at a few options in North Beach. I also feel Monday night should play well as it's generally a quiet night so hopefully find a location soon!
